Sydney ICT AI & Automation Specialist - Kale Bullen

Kale Bullen

Head of Operations

Kale Bullen is Head of Operations at Sydney ICT, where he leads the design and delivery of automation and infrastructure solutions across the group’s family of businesses. With 17 years in the ICT and managed services industry, Kale has built deep, hands-on expertise spanning cloud infrastructure, network engineering, and business process automation, giving him a practical, end-to-end view of how AI and automation actually work inside a live operating business.

Kale’s approach centres on building automation that removes manual work from real operational bottlenecks rather than automation for its own sake. He works extensively across Microsoft 365 and Azure, Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence, and n8n, using these platforms to connect systems that were never designed to talk to each other: linking CRM and billing data straight into service delivery workflows, and building custom Azure Functions where off-the-shelf tools fall short. This platform-agnostic, systems-first approach means solutions are built around the client’s existing tech stack rather than forcing a rebuild around a single vendor.

Recent projects include an automated pipeline that connects HubSpot’s sales pipeline directly to Jira and Confluence, so a closed deal automatically generates the project tickets and documentation needed to start delivery, and a custom-built billing automation system that reconciles WHMCS billing data with Jira service tickets in real time. This kind of work reflects Kale’s broader focus, using AI and automation not as a buzzword, but as a practical tool to cut administrative overhead and let teams focus on higher-value client work.

Sydney ICT AI & Automation Specialist - Zach Brewer

Zach Brewer

Managing Director

Zach has spent over ten years in IT, and has seen the whole arc of how businesses connect their systems. Siloed software, then custom integrations, then APIs, and now automation and AI tools that can move data fast, reliably and at scale.

His approach starts with a simple question: what is the problem, and what does the client actually want to see happen? From there he looks at the work through an automation lens. What is repetitive? What is the same thing every time? What can be automated outright, and where does a human still need to be in the loop for review and quality control? He builds mostly across Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Teams and Power Apps, alongside Jira and n8n, and increasingly uses AI to read large volumes of data and return accurate summaries in a fraction of the time.

The point of all of it is lifting administrative burden. Every business carries some. For one NDIS provider, Zach built a Power App that automatically flags reportable incidents into Jira, giving managers oversight without the paperwork. For a health-based client fielding a high volume of varied enquiries, he is building a support solution that summarises incoming tickets so the team can respond faster with less time spent on each one. When you take that work off your team, they get their time back for the parts of the job that matter most: customers, clients and service.
